This is an excellent analysis. The hallmark of the Sixties left is a sense of entitlement. They believe to the very depth of their bones that their agenda is the true national agenda. It is this disrepect for the true feelings of the American people that has led to their political failure.
Sometimes change is for their own good and the government exists to protect the rights and freedoms of the minority (this is in the Federalist papers, btw). The majority on any issue don't need protection, they can vote.
Do you think that the South in the 60s would have secured the civil rights of blacks willingly? They would not have.
