"THE WAR IS LOST"

I'm in the middle of writing my analysis of the Virginia Tech massacre, and in the piece I mention how some are attempting to exploit the tragedy for political gain.

Then Harry Reid comes out today as if to show those people exactly how it's done.

Reid says "The war is lost."

And there should be no doubt that Reid has wanted to say this for a long time.

The bombings in Bagdhad yesterday simply gave him an excuse to say it.

That's what he wants. For the war to be "lost."

When the surge shows signs of working, as it has for the last two months, Reid is silent, but as soon as the terrorists rear their ugly heads again, that's it. It's over.

It's Harry Reid, political opportunist extraordinaire.

Cut, run, retreat and surrender. Slow bleed. That's his plan. And it's 100% political.

It is undoubtedly the wrong thing to do. But he and his fellow Democrats don't seem to care. They smell political blood, and they will continue to undermine the efforts of our military in order to feed on a Republican's political corpse.

Shame on you, Senator Reid. Shame on you. Our troops are in greater danger today than they were yesterday because of your party's political ambition.
